Quantoz Payments B.V. has introduced a new platform called Embedded Payment Services, which offers a modular API-based solution for fintechs, digital platforms, and payment service providers. This platform facilitates the integration of regulated digital money, accounts, wallets, payments, and compliance features directly into their products. Potje, a Dutch app designed for group savings, is the first to adopt this service, allowing users to save collectively towards common goals such as vacations or shared gifts.
This service marks an expansion in Quantoz Payments’ offerings, which previously focused on regulated e-money tokens. The new platform provides APIs and essential infrastructure that streamline the creation of payment and settlement solutions across European markets. By selecting specific payment components, businesses can mitigate the complexities tied to licensing, compliance, safeguarding, and operational infrastructure.
Built on blockchain-native technology, Quantoz’s Embedded Payment Services enable partners to customize and scale components according to their needs. The platform includes features such as accounts and digital wallets, inbound and outbound payments, collections, Pay by Bank payment functionality, and processes for fraud, risk, and compliance. Potje’s collaboration with Quantoz during the platform’s development has made it the first company to go live with these services.
Through this integration, Potje users benefit from the security of having their funds held by Quantoz Payments, which operates under the supervision of the Dutch Central Bank. Users can add funds via a Pay by Bank service available throughout Europe, with instant processing of payouts and flexible withdrawals. Bastiaan Reurink, CEO of Potje, highlights that the partnership aims to simplify and secure group saving, enhancing the app’s role as a group money account across Europe.
Arjen van Klaarbergen, Chief Legal Officer at Quantoz Payments, emphasizes that the new service offers fintechs and platforms regulated digital-money infrastructure without the need to develop their own compliance and payment systems. Operating under its existing regulatory framework, Quantoz is licensed as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) in the Netherlands, ensuring that funds exchanged for e-money are safeguarded in line with European regulatory standards. The Embedded Payment Services are accessible to fintechs, platforms, and payment service providers throughout the European Economic Area (EEA).
